Blossom City
On a hill, by the rabbit hole lived one of the cutest flowers in all of Blossom City. Her name was Lily and she loved her pretty petals.
One day, so bright, she sat down for tea with misses bee! “Hello misses bee, won’t you please have some tea?”, asked Lily. “Green Tea, with me, Lily!” Mrs Bee loved the idea of having tea with Lily, especially green tea. Green was her absolute favorite color! Why certainly Lily, it would BEE my pleasure! Lily smiled and laughed at misses bee’s joke. But Lily didn’t laugh nearly as hard as misses bee!
Mrs. Bee laughed!
…And Laughed!!!!
“We’ll wasn’t that delightful”, exclaimed misses bee. “I really enjoyed your company Lily, but I’m really busy and I must BEE off!” “But miss bee, you haven’t even touched your tea! Must you really BEE going?,” sighed lily. “I’m sorry dear but I must. Bees are very busy you know!” “But I certainly will enjoy the tea… I’ll take it to go!” “I can even use one of your petals as a nap sack to help me carry my deliciously green tea!”
PLUCK!
“How absolutely rude,” thought Lily! Lily loved her pretty petals… and misses bee didn’t even ask! But Lily was a kind flower and she knew she had plenty more petals, each as pretty as the last! “Goodbye misses bee!,” Lily said as she waved away!
Would you believe, the very next day it rained! And boy did it ever rain! It rained so hard that it flooded the rabbit hole next door! Luckily Mr. Fuzzy Rabbit was out of town and it stopped raining the very next day!
Mr. Fuzzy Rabbit was not a very happy rabbit at all… especially when he came home to see that the neighborhood kids had turned his rabbit hole into a swimming pool! “Darn my luck, first the carrot convention is canceled due to rain, and now I come home to splish splashing!”, growled a very unhappy Fuzzy rabbit. “Shoo kids! Yelled mr rabbit.
But the june bug kids didn’t hear him! They were having oh such a wonderful time!
SHOOOOOO! Shouted mr fuzzy rabbit, even louder than before!
But the june bug kids still didn’t hear him! Lily, being a kind flower, attempted to calm Mr rabbit down. “Dear Mr. Fuzzy Rabbit, would you be so kind as to stop your shooooing. The june bug kids are having such a wonderful time swimming in your rabbit hole! Why not sit with me and enjoy some delicious green tea!” “I think the problem is with my technique,” mumbled mr. rabbit.” Mr fuzzy rabbit was always known to be crabby, but no one would have guessed what he was about to do next!
PLUCK!
Not only did mr fuzzy rabbit shooo, but he let out the biggest shoo Blossom City has even seen! SHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO yelled that foul rabbit! “SHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO he screamed as he waved Lily’s recently plucked petal in the air!
Lily watched dumbfoundedly as mr angry rabbit chased the neighborhood kids out of his rabbit hole.
And chased.
And chased! Waving Lily’s pluck petal along the way!
Lily, an ever so kind flower was sad that mr rabbit was so crabby. “who would have thought that my beautiful petal would be used to shoooo away the neighbor kids? ,” sighed Lily. “At least I still have a few more petals. They are oh sooo pretty and I love them dearly.”
A week passed in Blossom City. Misses Bee was as busy as ever, too busy to stop by for some tea. Mr. Fuzzy Rabbit is not so cranky now that the sun has dried out his rabbit hole. And the june bug kids found another swimming pool over on the other side of town!
And Lily… well Lily had such a horrible week. She had lost all but 1 of her beautiful petals.
“At least I have 1 beautiful petal left,” said Lily. “I love it dearly.” Just then, Lily, began to cry.
She was sad.
Lily’s tears streamed down her cheeks as she sobbed quietly.
The soft sound of teardrops got caught in the wind and drifted through Blossom City. They drifted until they came to rest upon the ears of a little girl in a yellow dress, who was sitting all alone on a park bench. Curiously, the little girl followed the sounds.
She followed them past the swimming hole, where the June Bug kids were splashing and laughing,
She followed them past misses bee’s hive, where she was finally relaxing to a cup of green tea.
She even followed the sounds all the way up the only hill in Blossom City, where she found a rabbit hole, and Lily, who was once the cutest flower of all around.
The Yellow Dress Girl kneeled down and asked. “What’s the matter little flower? Why are you so sad?”
Lily let it all out. “m m misses bee took one of my pretty p p petals,” she sobbed. And and then a mean rabbit took one of my petals too. And I try to be nice. I want to be kind, and I’m not the cutest little flower any more. I only have 1 petal left… sniff… and… sniff… and no one wants to have t t tea with me...” Lily cried as she realized how lonely she was in such a mean, mean city.
The little girl looked at Lily with such caring eyes. She smiled gently and reached towards Lily and her 1 remaining petal. Lily closed her eyes…
….pluck
Now you might think that Lily lost her last petal. That’s what Lily thought until she awoke in a warm glow. The little girl, the one in the yellow dress, had taken Lily home!
Lily had a new flower pot decorated in glitter!
The girl in the yellow dress even made Lily some pretty new petals out of paper and crayon!
They became best of friends, having tea parties every day! Misses bee even came for a visit! And mr fuzzy rabbit, he wrote Lily a letter because he missed his neighbor dearly.
On the window sill, of a girl in a yellow dress, lives one of the cutest flowers in all of Blossom City. Her name is Lily and she loves her pretty petals.
